Gynecomastia (Male Breast Reduction)

Male breast reduction addresses excessive breast tissue in men, a condition called gynecomastia. Gynecomastia can develop because of hormonal changes, the natural aging process, kidney and liver disease, and other conditions. Dr. Barone performs gynecomastia surgery to remove excess skin and fat from the pectoral area, resulting in a more masculine chest shape.

Both implant options provide unique advantages. Many patients feel that silicone implants produce the most realistic look and feel. On the other hand, Dr. Barone can fill saline implants after they are placed, so they require minimal incisions. Dr. Barone can place saline implants using the advanced TUBA (transumbilical breast augmentation) technique. This involves Dr. Barone making a tiny incision (less than 2 centimeters) in the navel, and placing the empty implant before it is filled with saline solution.
