What is BELOTERO BALANCE®?
BELOTERO BALANCE® is a dermal filler that contains hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally within our skin. When it is injected within the dermal layer of the skin, BELOTERO BALANCE® bonds with water and fills wrinkles and folds. BELOTERO BALANCE® begins to work immediately after injection, and it can last six months or longer.
What Areas Does BELOTERO BALANCE® Treat?
Because of its unique composition, BELOTERO BALANCE® can treat smile lines, vertical lip lines, lines at the corners of the mouth, and marionette lines (lines that develop from the corners of the mouth and extend to the chin). BELOTERO BALANCE® is approved by the FDA for injection within the middle and deep layers of the skin.
How is BELOTERO BALANCE® Applied?
Dr. Barone will evaluate each patient's facial wrinkles to determine where to inject BELOTERO BALANCE®. She will then use a thin syringe to inject the hyaluronic acid directly into patient's skin. Dr. Barone uses a gentle touch, so BELOTERO BALANCE® is usually only mildly uncomfortable while it is injected. For patients worried about pain from the injections, Dr. Barone can provide a light topical anesthetic before treatment.
Dr. Barone may administer a touch-up injection a few weeks following each patient's initial treatment. A follow-up treatment can help provide further rejuvenation.
Some patients may experience slight irritation, swelling, itching, or redness on their skin following injection, although many patients experience no side effects at all. Most patients return to their daily activities following treatment, enjoying their newly rejuvenated look.
