How ThermiRase™ Works

ThermiRase™ is one of three treatments performed with the ThermiRF™, an innovative system that administers radiofrequency through specialized probes. For the ThermiRase™ application, Dr. Barone will administer radiofrequency at a temperature that creates thermal lesions in nerve pathways at strategic points. This prevents these nerve pathways from contracting the facial muscles that create wrinkles and lines over time.

First, Dr. Barone will gently stimulate the nerves in the face that control frowning. By locating the nerves, she can create more effective lesions across the nerve pathways. These lesions disable nerve impulses, allowing specific facial muscles to remain relaxed.

Dr. Barone will apply local anesthetic before administering the treatment to ensure your best possible comfort. The radio frequency is administered at approximately 185 degrees for about a minute, using a SmartTip™ probe with Injector Port™ to reach the targeted nerve pathway. Unlike BOTOX® Cosmetic‎, ThermiRase™ works immediately.

The results of ThermiRase™ treatment can last for one to two years when properly administered by a professional like Dr. Barone.
