How ThermiTight™ Works
ThermiTight™ helps you achieve smoother skin with targeted radio frequency. Depending upon the temperature and type of probe Dr. Barone connects to the Thermi™ system, she can target the upper layers of skin, subdermis, deep fat tissue, and even nerves. For ThermiTight™ treatment, she will target the subdermal level of your skin.
To create beautiful skin-tightening results, Dr. Barone first applies a local anesthetic at the treatment site. She uses a specialized SmartTip™ probe that is inserted through a small incision to reach the deeper layers of skin. This probe is gently moved back and forth to evenly heat the subdermis. The process takes less than an hour, and produces results that develop gradually over three to four months following treatment.
During treatment, the ThermiRF™ technology allows Dr. Barone to closely monitor how a patient's tissue is reacting. Thermistor technology intuitively adjusts the level of radiofrequency being administered according to the temperature of the patient's skin, which helps keep temperature consistent for effective, even treatment. Additionally, Dr. Barone uses an infrared camera to make sure a safe temperature is maintained throughout treatment.
After ThermiTight™ has been administered, patients are free to leave our offices wearing a sterile, comfortable wrap on their treatment areas. They can resume normal activities the following day.
Candidates for ThermiTight™
ThermiTight™ is a great option for patients who want tighter skin, but who may not be ready for more intensive plastic surgery such as a facelift or tummy tuck. ThermiTight™ has less downtime than these treatments, and can produce highly satisfying results. Many patients choose to have this treatment performed on areas where they have lost fat deposits. Other patients develop naturally drooping skin with age, and want a lifted, more youthful appearance.
ThermiTight™ can be administered on the lower face and neck, arms, legs, stomach, breasts, and more. It can be an excellent complement to liposuction treatment. Some patients also choose to receive other Thermi™ applications, which include ThermiRase™ (used to restrict the ability of nerves to cause repetitive muscle contractions that result in deep lines and wrinkles) and ThermiSmooth™ (a treatment that reduces fine lines and wrinkles on the skin surface).
